| Interview summary |
In this interview, Ronnie Golightly, who is a stand-in janitor at Pencaitland primary, talks about his early schooldays at Knox academy in Haddington and his later decision to join the fire brigade. He was with the fire service for 33 years before retiring and then becoming a janitor. He reflects that he's had a very happy life and has enjoyed his working life and loves living in East Lothian, where he has easy access to the countryside. Although not critical of his own education, Ronnie felt that schooling had got much better over the years and believed there were many more opportunities for schoolchildren now. |
