Short initial biographical interview with Margaret Wilson (aged c75) who has lived her whole life in Wanlockhead. Margaret talks about the family home at Straight Steps which she shared with her widowed mother and brother. There was no electricity or running water and she and her mother slept in box beds in the main room of the house. She talks about going to school, playing, shopping, travelling and accumulator radios. The interview is stopped briefly to allow Margaret's husband, Ronnie, to participate (see also DG20/2/1/1).
