Interview summary | In track 1 (of 2) of this biographical interview, Kenny Doonan (b.c1930s) describes his childhood on Barrachen Estate, where his mother had Home Farm and kept a small dairy herd. Kenny went on to work as an independent contractor, taking travelling mills, balers and combines around the area. In track 2 (of 2), Kenny talks more about his life in farming. He recalled the Port William milk lorry came every day to collect milk from the family's dairy. He also describes working with travelling mills, how farming has changed over time, recreation, housing, peat-cutting and community life. |
