Biographical history | Caroline Milligan is a Research Assistant with the EERC. She works with Mark Mulhern to deliver the oral history strand of the Regional Ethnology of Scotland Project (RESP), primarily assisting with training, volunteer events and community engagement. She edited the first Regional Flashback, Stranraer and District Lives: Voices in Trust (2017) which was based on a collection of recordings made by the Stranraer and District Local History Trust (SDLHT) between 1999 and 2016. These recordings were the first items to be added to the RESP archive when the Project was established, in 2011. The Dumfries and Galloway RESP recordings collected by Caroline were generally made as a result of meeting individual contributors at community events, such as the pop-up shop held by the RESP in Dumfries. In addition, some interviews were held with members of the SDLHT as part of the information-gathering for the Regional Flashback. Caroline also works with the EERC as an editor and her other publications include, An Orkney Boyhood by Duncan Cameron Mackenzie (2011), From Land to Rail: Life and Times of Andrew Ramage 1854-1917 (2014) and Going to the Berries: Voices of Perthshire and Angus Seasonal Workers (2020). |
