Biographical history	Born in Glasgow, Kirsty Robertson has lived in Newton Stewart since 1986. As a teacher, she worked with young people with emotional and behavioural needs. She has always had an interest in local history and people’s lives, believing both must be recorded and shared. Of her reasons for joining the project, Kirsty said that she: became aware of older people’s memories after volunteering in Newton Stewart following retirement and also that she felt strongly that, within the context of society changing so rapidly, these memories should be recorded to avoid so much information being lost.
Interview summary	Kirsty Roberston conducted a total of 16 recordings made with 16 interviewees. The interviews were carried out between 2012 and 2013.
