Biographical history | As part of the Dumfries & Galloway RESP, fieldworker Kerry Allan interviewed her father, George McMillan about his life in Galloway. George recalled his schooldays, working and family life and also his love of nature and the natural world. Some volunteers join the RESP in order to research a particular area or subject and can go on to make 1, 5 or 25 fieldwork recordings. Kerry came to the Study with a very specific project in mind: to interview her father. The resulting interview is interesting not only in the content but also in illustrating the enjoyment and benefits of interviewing within the family group. |
