Description 21/02/2018: One specimen. Slab of silica, approx 10mm think, one face is polished and the other is smoothly cut. The edges of the slab have concoidal fracture. Red and green are the dominant colours, with tan-yellow areas.
Other context Heliotrope: A synonym of Bloodstone Bloodstone: A variety of prase (dark green/greenish-blue chalcedony or jasper), with small red blood-like spots. Also used for a red variety of quartz. Chrysoprase: An apple-green variety of chalcedony. The colour is caused by tiny inclusions of Ni-bearing layers silicates (willemseite, népouite or others).
