From a sketch made on the spot by Grindlay in 1813 for the Hon. Mrs Stewart Mackenzie, a close friend of Sir Walter Scott. This is a hand-coloured aquatint by William Purser, engraved by R.G. Reeve. Grindlay's celebrated work is one of the most attractive colour plate books on India. |
