Description | Edward Hulse, here depicted in his 75th year, was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, where he gained the degrees of Batchelor of Medicine (1704), and Doctor of Medicine (1717). That same year he joined the College of Physicians and became censor for a first time in 1720, and councillor in 1750, 1751, and 1753. Hulse joined a leading physician's practice in London, and was also first physician to George II. He was created a baronet in 1738. |
