Bronze statuette representing Night as a reclining woman. The figure is supported by a dais, her torso is twisted to her left and her left leg is raised. Beneath the leg an owl peers forth identifying the statuette as night and a mask, representing an evil nocturnal spirit, situated under the left arm helps supports the body. Her body is clearly displayed to the onlooker as she twists and turns towards the public. Her body rests heavily on a drapery while she is in a deep but troubled sleep. She is lying uneasily with her left arm twisted awkwardly behind her back. Her hair is held back from her face by a diadem in the shape of a crescent moon with a star at its centre.
