| Description | This collection includes records from hospitals which have been transferred from the NHS and date from 1770 to the present day. These include hospitals in West Lothian, Midlothian, East Lothian and the Borders as well as Edinburgh hospitals such as the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. A number of NHS administrative organisations are also represented, including Lothian NHS Board and its predecessor bodies, boards of management, units and trusts. These collections contain material such as minutes, administrative files and finance records, as well as patient and staff records. LHSA ensures the security of confidential records and manages access to them in accordance with relevant legislation.
