Technical description: Body made from tortoise-shell carapace; sound-table of cowhide laced with V-lacing to small patch of cowhide on underside; two sound-holes in sound-table; 5 strings of twisted nylon; peg tuning; pentatonically tuned.

General usage of type: Played by men, used domestically solo, or in ensemble of three for song accompaniment. Specific usage history: Acquired from a maker at Gulu in 1965, but probably made earlier.
